WATER RESTRICTIONS ARE in place across the country and Ireland’s historic drought continues.
Irish Water is imploring people to conserve water in any way they can, with a nationwide hosepipe ban in place.
The utility has also issued a number of guidelines and tips to help people conserve water.
In one of these tips, Irish Water advises customers to let the “yellow mellow”.
The utility is asking people to only flush the toilet when it’s necessary – and not to flush it every time a person urinates.
Anywhere from six to 12 litres of water can be used each time the toilet is flushed.
But some people just don’t like to have pee in the bowl when they go to do their business.
