Wind warning issued as Storm Caroline heads towards Ireland

A YELLOW WEATHER warning has been issued as Storm Caroline bears down on Ireland.

The warning will be active for all of Thursday, kicking in at 3am and expiring at 8pm.

The weather warning affects Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare and Kerry.

“An Atlantic storm will pass close to the north coast of Scotland on Thursday morning.

“The UK Met Office have named it Storm Caroline. Severe winds will affect parts of Scotland, but it will generate strong and blustery winds over Ireland also.

For the country, Thursday will have sunny spells, with fresh to strong gusts and temperatures from 3 to 8 degrees.
